    How much money can I send to Russia?

    You can send up to $50,000 to Russia via bank transfer from your personal account to your relative’s bank account.

    If you would prefer to pay by cash or have your relative collect from one of our agent locations in Russia, there is a maximum transfer limit of $5,000. You can check the equivalent amount in Russian Rouble (RUB) using our converter tool.

    How do I send money online to Russia?
    1. Log in or register and verify your free profile. Click on the ‘Send now’ button to begin your money transfer.
    2. Enter the destination (Russia), and the amount you’d like to send. Transfers can take up to four banking days if you fund the transactions from your personal bank account.
    3. Select ‘Bank account’ or ‘Cash pick up’. If sending to a bank account, make sure you enter all required account details3 for your receiver and their bank. You can also select a previous receiver.
    4. Pay with your bank account, credit2 or debit card.
    5. You’ll receive a confirmation email from us containing a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for your transfer. You can share this number with your receiver to track the funds.
    What do I need to send money online to Russia from the US?

    If sending money to a bank account in Russia, you’ll need to have the specific details to hand. These include the bank name, branch, city, Russian bank identification code (BIC), and account number. You’ll also need to provide a purpose of transaction.

    How do I send money to Russia from a Western Union agent location?
    1. Search online for a Western Union® agent location near you.
    2. Visit and go to the counter with your valid government-issued ID, My WU®number, or phone number. You should also provide your receiver’s bank and account information.
    3. Pay for the transfer with cash or a US bank-issued debit card.
    4. We’ll provide you with a receipt which contains the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for your transfer. Share this number with your receiver so that they can track the funds.
