Transfer money to debit or credit cards

You can transfer money online to a debit or credit¹ card by following these steps:

1. 1. Register for a free Western Union profile or log in with your details.
   2. Click “Send now” and chose the country where you want to send money.
   3. Enter the transfer amount and choose the option to send money to a debit or credit card¹.
   4. Then select a payment method for the transfer.
   5. Enter all the required details, including the receiver’s name and bank card number.
   6. Add the purpose of your transfer and the source of the funds.
   7. Confirm and pay for the transfer. Use your tracking number (MTCN) to track your transfer to a credit¹ or debit card.

Before you send money to a debit or credit card¹, you’ll need the following information to hand:

• Receiver’s name and contact details
• Receiver’s bank card number
• Receiver’s IBAN and BIC
• Valid photo ID — if identify verification is required for your transfer.

In most cases you won’t be able to find an IBAN on a credit card. The cards are always linked to an account that—in Europe at least—always has its own international bank account number (IBAN) too. You can find this IBAN on the credit card statement, for example. However, the card itself usually only contains the 13- to 16-digit credit card number on the front and the three-digit card verification code (CVC) on the back.

This depends on which country you’re sending the money to. An international money transfer can take up to five working days.

3. Enter the amount you want to send.
4. Select debit or credit card¹ as the option for receiving the money.
5. Then indicate the payment method you want to use to make the transfer.
6. Enter the receiver’s details, including name, address and credit card number.
7. Finally, state the purpose of the transfer and the source of the funds and complete your transfer by paying for it.

Once you have ordered your transfer to a credit card, we will send the money to the credit card account to which it is linked.
