At Western Union, you can transfer your money online in just a few steps:

1. Go to the “Send money” page.
2. Enter the destination country and amount to send.
3. Choose a method for receiving the money, such as cash, transfer to a bank account or transfer to a debit card.
4. Decide how you want to pay for the money transfer — by bank transfer, SOFORT transfer, credit or debit card, or Google Pay: Choose the option that is most convenient for you.
5. Log in or register for a free Western Union profile and complete the online transfer.

Tip: You can also order the transfer online and then pay for it at a Western Union location of your choice.

How long your online transfer takes depends on the destination country and your chosen payment and receiving methods. Depending on the situation, your money will arrive within minutes or a few business days. You can find out how long it will take at any time when selecting the payment and receiving methods or in the overview, i.e. before you make the online transfer.

Western Union offers you various ways of paying for your online transfer:

Please note that the payment methods available for your online transfer depend on the destination country and how you want the money to be paid out.

For an online transfer you’ll need:

• A valid email address for your free Western Union profile.
• A payment method for the money transfer — a credit¹/debit card, a bank account or SOFORT, or Apple Pay^® via our app.
• The full name of the receiver.
• Depending on the available and chosen method of receiving the money: the receiver’s bank details, mobile wallet or debit card details or the receiver’s address for cash pickup.
• If necessary, proof of ID to verify your profile.

If the receiver does not have an account, you can order an online transfer with cash pickup:

1. Select the cash pickup option for receiving the money.
2. Enter the receiver’s name and address.
3. The receiver can simply go to their nearest Western Union location.
4. The money usually arrives in minutes⁵.

You can also send the money to the receiver’s mobile wallet — if the receiver lives in a country where this service is available. In addition, the receiver must have an active mobile wallet with one of our partner mobile operators. Learn more about sending money to mobile wallets.
