It doesn’t matter if you want to transfer the money to a bank account by credit card1 or pay in cash at a Western Union location. To transfer money to a bank account, you need the following information:
The transfer time depends on the country you want to transfer money to. In many cases, it is one to three working days. Depending on the country and our partners, your money transfer may even arrive on the same day or take more than three days. For example, a transfer to an account in Ukraine takes one to two working days and a transfer to Argentina takes one to five working days.
Tip: We will always show you the estimated transfer time for each payment and receiving method and each destination country in the transfer overview. For a complete breakdown of times, see our transfer details page.
Our transfer fees2 vary depending on the destination country, transfer amount and payout method.
The time it takes to transfer money depends on the payment and receiving methods and the receiver’s country. The quickest way to send money is often a transfer with cash pickup at a location — this way, the money reaches the receiver in minutes3. Send money online or with the Western Union® app for cash pickup.
When you send money online, you can easily see the expected delivery times in the transfer overview: Once you have entered the transfer amount and the payment and receiving methods, you will see the estimated time next to “Delivery time”.
Tip: If you want to transfer money to a bank account, please note that the transfer time depends on the payment method: Depending on the destination country, your money may arrive faster if you pay with SOFORT or a debit/credit card1 than with a conventional bank transfer.
The amount of money you can transfer in a single transfer or within a specific period of time depends on identity verification, payment and receiving methods and destination country:
