How do I send money online to China?

To make an online money transfer to China, just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Western Union® profile or register and verify one for free. Begin your money transfer to China by clicking ‘Send now’.
  2. Type in ‘China’ as the destination and how much you wish to send. You’ll be able to view typical transfer times as you make your selections.
  3. Click on ‘Bank account’. You’ll then have the choice of selecting an existing receiver or entering bank account details3 for a new one.
  4. Pay for your money transfer by credit2 or debit card.
  5. Look out for a confirmation email containing a tracking number (MTCN). This can then be shared with your receiver in China to help track the money.

What do I need to send money online to China?

You’ll need a passport or a valid government-issued ID to register online with Western Union®. When sending money to China, your receiver’s account number, and the purpose of the transfer are required. We might also ask for additional information about your source of funds and occupation, depending on the amount of money you would like to send, when making a ‘large amount’ money transfer.
